Holidays is a song sung by the girls with one line spoken by Miss Clavel in Madeline's Christmas.

Plot[]

The girls are all excited about going home for Christmas to spend time with their families. The song was later reprised at the end when the girls' families visit them instead.

Lyrics[]

Chorus

Girls: We're going home for the holidays.

By train, by bus, by car.

We're going home for the holidays.

We're traveling oh so far.

Stanza 1

Nicole: I baked some cookies for my maman.

She'll love to eat them all.

Chloe: I made this stocking for my brother.

I sewed his name. It's Paul!

Chorus

Stanza 2

Danielle: I knit this sweater for grand-maman.

Her favorite color is blue.

Madeline: And I made this picture for my papa;

The best I ever drew.

Girls: We're going home for the holidays

To be with those we love.

We're going home for the holidays.

Miss Clavel: (spoken) Who forgot a glove?

Girls: We're going home for the holidays.

We're happy as can be,

'Cause there's no other time like the holidays

to be with family.

Lyrics (Reprise)[]

All: We're staying in for the holidays.

And those we love are near.

We're staying in for the holidays.

We wished and now they're here.

We're staying in for the holidays.

We're happy as can be,

'Cause there's no other time like the holidays

to be with family.

Trivia[]

  • When she interrupts the song to say, "Who forgot a glove?", Miss Clavel seems to teleport in rather than walking.
